Let’s Drag Arby’s
I recently went to my local Arby’s and was dismayed to find that they had removed many of my favorite items from the menu. These items included their brisket sandwich and all the other offerings in this category. They even robbed me of the chicken salad sandwich I had ordered on several occasions and served as an ideal alternative to the clearly superior brisket offering. I looked at the rest of the menu only to find the same stuff that had stared my in the face when I first visited one of their establishments when I was a kid.
I stopped going to them when I got older because all they had to offer were the same roast beef retreads. I needed variety and easily found it in one of their competitors. I am beginning to have those same feelings now that I’ve noticed they gutted most of their menu. What was the purpose of this change? Perhaps it’s something that’s reserved to the location I visited. Their website says that they still have their brisket sandwich, yet it was nowhere to be found when I had to buy their inferior roast beef cheddar.
Arby’s is one of those brands who has been around much longer than many of their competitors. Rather than doing something to separate themselves from the pack, they decided to take themselves back several years, returning them to their position as an industry dinosaur instead of an actual player. It seems like their new game is to have a fish sandwich…
