I used to like Jimmy John’s, but not anymore. The turning point in my relationship with this brand came recently when I stopped off at one of their locations to order their JJ Gargantuan monstrocity. I had this sandwich many times and it was delightful each and every time. However, this time was different and the resulting feelings of disappointment were like an earthquake that reverberated throughout my consciousness. I’m so disappointed in the quality of the sandwich I received that I relegated Jimmy John’s to the pay-no-mind list where all establishments I choose to ignore reside. I hate that this has happened and I would like to address it for my entertainment.

The first issue I had with my sandwich was a price. The big version of the JJ Gargantuan goes for just under $20 where I live. This particular sandwich did not cost as much the last time I ordered it. This fact is understandable considering it had been a few years since I brought one of these behemoths home with me. Price goes up over time and that makes sense. What does not make sense is the downturn in quality that came with this price increase. When I am faced with the prospect of paying more for an item, I expect that the quality will more or less remain the same. That wasn’t the case with this particular sandwich.

Any time I have written about one of these establishments I always get the same responses. People…
